So far in the first two Lessons of Ganesha’s Simplified Secrets Series.

We explored the tale of Ganesha’s early
beginnings and how Parvati’s strong desire for a son saw
her creating Ganesha from the mael of her body.
In today’s lesson we discover the origins of Ganesha’s
elephant head and through this story we learn another
powerful secret about the elephant God’s ability to
remove obstacles.

The story begins when Ganesha was appointed to guard his
mother’s inner chambers. You see, other than having a son
to love and cure her loneliness, Parvati also wanted
someone to guard her inner chambers, which were very
private to her.

She did not want anybody - not even her own husband - to
arrive unannounced.

So when Ganesha was born, she gave him instructions to
guard her inner chambers and absolutely not let anyone
enter without her consent.

Ganesha, as a loving and dutiful son, would guard the
threshold every day in commitment to his mother.
One day, Shiva returned from one of his long meditation
retreats. As Ganesha was created in the absence of Shiva,
he did not recognize the tall, dark blue man as his father,
and neither did Shiva know this young boy guarding the
doors to his home as his son.

Out of committed duty, Ganesha forbade Shiva to enter his
mother’s inner chambers. Shiva was enraged because he was
being denied entry and could not meet his own wife. A
fight ensued. Read Hindu God Vishnu Story, Radha – Krishna love story…more on here: http://thevishnuexperience.com
